Unfollio is designed to avoid the risks of password-based unfollower apps. We never log into Instagram and never automate activity on your account.
We never ask for your Instagram password
Unfollio works entirely from your Instagram data export — a ZIP file you download from Instagram's official settings. We never ask for, store, or touch your Instagram login credentials.
No API scraping, no bot activity
Unfollio doesn't connect to Instagram's API, doesn't make requests on your behalf, and doesn't run any automated actions on your account. Because we never log in or act as you, we avoid the main risks associated with password-based unfollower apps. No app can guarantee Instagram outcomes, but Unfollio doesn't use scraping, bots, or your password.
Your ZIP is processed locally
When you upload your Instagram data export, the ZIP file is parsed directly in your browser. We only send the minimum relationship data required for the audit (your handle, follower/following usernames, the export timestamp, and — if present in your export — your pending requests, blocked accounts, and recently-unfollowed lists). The original ZIP is never uploaded. See the exact request shape on the privacy proof page.
Minimal data stored
We store usernames from the lists above, audit timestamps, your ZIP filename for reference, and your email for authentication — held on managed Postgres (Supabase) with disk-level encryption and per-user row-level access policies. We do not store profile photos, bios, DMs, posts, stories, or any other Instagram content.
Delete your data anytime
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. When you delete, we remove everything — audit history, follower data, and your account record. Nothing is retained.
